Thursday, December 1st, 2011: Heilman and Dealt
New York (A) and Seattle have agreed to a trade today. 33-year old reliever Aaron Heilman will go to the Mariners. In exchange the Yankees will receive $3,000,000 in cash.

Lifetime Heilman has put up a 44-and-40 record with 24 saves and a 4.32 ERA.

Ánibal Herrera burst onto the American League stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie left fielder for Seattle garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.

The 25-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .519 (14-27) with 3 home runs and 7 RBIs last week.

This season Herrera has banged out 140 hits in 513 at-bats for a .273 average with 19 home runs. He is getting on base at a .315 pace and his totals also include 79 RBIs and 70 runs scored.
Monday, August 29th, 2011: Johnson Wins AL Player of the Week Trophy
It was announced today by the American League that Seattle first baseman Nick Johnson had received the Player of the Week Trophy for his superlative play last week.

The Seattle first baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers, pounding them for a .545 average (12-22) with 2 home runs and 7 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor.

Johnson is currently hitting at a .254 pace with 21 home runs, 73 RBIs and has scored 74 times.
