Friday, June 17th, 2011: Chicago (A) Swaps Hall to Philadelphia for Baker
The Chicago (A) White Sox have finalized a deal with the Philadelphia Phillies for the services of 29-year old third baseman Jeff Baker, 23-year old minor league left fielder Pat Livingston and 23-year old minor league left fielder Doug Maxwell. In exchange, the Phillies will receive 31-year old center fielder Bill Hall.

So far this season, Hall has recorded a .296 batting average with 67 hits, 11 home runs, 37 RBIs, 40 runs scored and a .398 OBP.

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011: Howard Socks 300-th HR
The Philadelphia 10-2 victory over Texas was highlighted by Ryan Howard's 300th career home run. His teammates congratulated him at home plate after he circled the bases.

"I didn't see all of them out there," Howard laughed, "until I rounded third base." He added sheepishly: "It was only a home run. It's not like I won us a World Series!"

In 4 at-bats the Phillies first baseman collected 2 hits in his historic game, scored 2 runs and had 4 RBI.

Lifetime Howard is batting .311 with 1055 hits, 301 home runs, 715 runs scored and 773 RBIs.
Saturday, May 14th, 2011: SP Hamels Re-Signs with Phillies
Philadelphia fans celebrated as word of a signing became reality. Cole Hamels won't be pulling up stakes anytime soon, as he has signed a 5-year extension at a pay rate of $9,600,000 per annum.

Since he is widely seen as an integral part of the club, Philadelphia officials had to keep Hamels from jumping ship.

This year Hamels has worked 49 innings with 54 strikeouts en route to a 2-2 record and 5.69 ERA.
