| Breaking News |  | Saturday, June 25th, 2011: Tampa Bay Deals Lidge to New York (N) for Carson The Tampa Bay Rays have parted ways with 34-year old reliever Brad Lidge, sending him to the New York (N) Mets for 24-year old left fielder Tex Carson. The Rays general manager confirmed the deal in an announcement this morning.
In 33 relief appearances this season, Lidge has 10 saves. He has 3 wins and 4 losses, 6.99 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 37.1 innings.
In 15 games this season Carson is batting .286 with 4 hits and no home runs. He has scored 1 runs and driven in 2. |  | Friday, June 17th, 2011: New York (N) Trades Rodriguez to Boston for Buchholz Officials for the New York (N) Mets confirmed that they have traded 27-year old catcher Dioner Navarro, 35-year old third baseman Alex Rodriguez and $5,000,000 in cash to the Boston Red Sox. In return, the Mets will receive 25-year old starting pitcher Clay Buchholz, 28-year old catcher Jeff Mathis, 25-year old third baseman Blake DeWitt and 25-year old minor league shortstop Justin Sellers.
In 2011, Rodriguez is hitting .261 with 11 home runs and 29 RBIs in 58 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .401 with 41 walks and 51 runs scored.
So far this year Buchholz has a 2-3 record with a 8.49 ERA. |  | Friday, June 17th, 2011: New York (N) and Detroit Agree to Swap The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The New York (N) Mets sent 26-year old reliever Josh Outman to the Detroit Tigers for 28-year old starting pitcher J.P. Howell.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.
During this season Outman has delivered 1 saves. In 25 relief appearances, he has 11 strikeouts in 15.1 innings with a 11.15 ERA and no wins and no losses.
