It is unknown at this time if there is any truth to the rumor that Minnesota's John Buck has asked his team for a trade. Insiders indicate the catcher may not be happy with the club management. So far, the team's owners have refused to comment.

 | Tuesday, September 20th, 2011: Kubel on Fire, 5-5 Against Oakland
Minnesota left fielder Jason Kubel banged out 5 hits today, but it was not enough to keep his club from succumbing to the Athletics 11-6. He went 5-for-5 and raised his batting average to 1.000 for the season.
Despite the loss, Kubel was not dismayed: "If the hits keep coming," he said, "so will the runs -- and more importantly -- so will the wins."
Kubel is hitting .296 in 2011 with 18 home runs, 70 RBIs and 67 runs scored. He has 136 hits in 459 at-bats and played in 134 games.

 | Monday, September 12th, 2011: Montero Signs Extension with Twins
Minnesota officials and Miguel Montero shook hands on a $20,740,000 deal today. The extension will keep Montero from becoming a free agent for at least 2 years.
This season Montero is swinging the bat at a .254 rate with 104 hits in 409 at-bats. To date he has hit 16 home runs, scored 56 runs and driven in 57.
