| Breaking News |  | Saturday, June 25th, 2011: Rangers Swap Benoit to Marlins for Marín
Officials for the Texas Rangers confirmed that they have traded 33-year old closer Joaquin Benoit to the Florida Marlins. In return, the Rangers will receive 26-year old minor league left fielder Miguel Angel Marín.
To date, Benoit has registered a 1-4 won-lost mark, has 24 relief appearances and rung up 13 saves. He has a 3.33 ERA and has allowed 20 hits over his 24.1 innings of work, struck out 24 batters and walked 9.

 | Friday, June 17th, 2011: Detroit and Florida Agree to Deal
A trade between the Detroit Tigers and the Florida Marlins was made official this morning. The Detroit Tigers have sent 25-year old left fielder Deron Schaff to the Florida Marlins in exchange for 27-year old right fielder Jeremy Hermida.
During the current season Schaff is batting at a .241 clip with 8 home runs and 34 RBIs. He has played in 52 games and scored 30 times.
This year Hermida has collected a .234 batting average to date with 52 hits in 222 at-bats, 43 RBIs, 7 home runs and scored 32 times. He has played in 63 games.

 | Tuesday, June 14th, 2011: Hendricks Out for 8 Months
After the end of today's game between Florida and Chicago (N), Jimmy Hendricks skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing a pitch, the Marlins had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The reliever will miss at least 8 months with a ruptured bicep tendon.
So far this season, Hendricks has compiled a 1-1 won-lost mark with 2 saves and a 3.19 ERA. In 48 innings he has fanned 32 and opponents are hitting him at a .251 clip.
