| Breaking News | | Monday, May 30th, 2011: Bad News for Senators, McPherson Injured Chad McPherson at first refused to leave today's Erie-Harrisburg game after he suffered a tender shoulder while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I'm a competitor," the feisty Harrisburg reliever said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep McPherson out of action for 1-2 weeks.
McPherson has gone to the hill for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 0-2 record with a 2.25 ERA. The Harrisburg reliever has limited opposing batters to a .269 batting average. | | Monday, May 23rd, 2011: Tata Sparkles, Blanks Harrisburg On the hill Jordan Tata stood out and was the master of the moment as he blanked Harrisburg 7-0.
At bat the Senators floundered, fizzled and failed to score.
"His fastball moves and he mixes in the slider," the Harrisburg manager said. "He kept us off balance."
The Reading pitcher hurled a 1-hit shutout in an exceptional effort. He gave up 1 walk and numbered 12 strikeouts.
"I felt good," Tata said. "That's probably the best fastball I've had all season. I was able to locate it pretty well. They were super-aggressive, which helped me."
This year Tata has a 4-3 record with a 5.26 ERA. | | Wednesday, May 18th, 2011: Miller Guns down Harrisburg Pete Miller of the Connecticut Defenders shut out the Harrisburg Senators 4-0, stopped them on 5 hits and had 3 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
After the game his manager said, "He just came out and was on the attack from the first pitch he threw. When Pete stays ahead in the count, he does well. That's the key."
In 8 starts this season Miller has rung up a 3-3 record and a 4.71 ERA. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 44-31, .587 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 1.0 GB | | Record at home | 21-18, .538 PCT | | Record on the road | 23-13, .639 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 5-3, .625 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 8-6, .571 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 11-12, .478 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 33-19, .635 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 4-6, .400 PCT | | Record in April | 14-9, .609 PCT | | Record in May | 16-13, .552 PCT | | Record in June | 14-9, .609 PCT |
