Major League Baseball News Article | |  | Tuesday, December 15th, 2009: Cincinnati Deals Bailey to Washington for Bard Officials for the Cincinnati Reds confirmed that they have traded 22-year old starting pitcher Homer Bailey to the Washington Nationals. In return, the Reds will receive 22-year old center fielder Gorkys Hernandez, 24-year old starting pitcher Daniel Bard, 24-year old starting pitcher Juan Carlos Trejo and 24-year old minor league reliever Chi-Hung Cheng.
In his career Bailey has tossed 362 innings, fanned 311 batters and walked 158. His lifetime won-lost record is 16 wins and 25 losses with a 4.77 ERA.
In career stats, the 24-year-old Bard has won 16 and lost 24, recording 257 strikeouts and 102 walks in 321.1 innings with a 4.48 ERA. Opponents have hit .272 against him. | |
